Two Ottawa brothers are in custody charged with attempted murder after a brutal stabbing in the city's west end.

Mohamed Osman, 22, faces the same charges as his 21-year-old brother, Deeq. Both are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

The brothers were arrested in connection with the beating and stabbing of a teen who was allegedly chased through a community housing parking lot and stabbed at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday. The teen suffered serious head and neck injuries.

A resident who lives in the Ritchie Street area said one of the attackers was wielding a hatchet at the time of the attack.

Police say they aren't searching for any other suspects.
