Ontario provincial police are hoping to get a break in a decades-old missing person case after releasing an age-enhanced photo of an Arnprior boy who disappeared while he was on a family fishing trip 37 years ago.

Adrien McNaughton went missing on June 12, 1972 while he was on an evening fishing trip with his dad and three siblings on Holmes Lake, located near Calabogie. He was just five years old.

Police say McNaughton disappeared after wandering into a wooded area off the lake. Although an extensive search was conducted, no trace of the boy was found.

If McNaughton is alive, he would now be 42 years old.

At the time of his disappearance, McNaughton had blond hair. He has brown eyes and a scar over his left eye.

Police hope an artist's depiction of what he might look like now, will help the investigation.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. A cash reward of up to $2,000 will be awarded to anyone whose information leads to an arrest of charge.
