TRENTON - An Ontario Provincial Police constable has been charged with criminal harassment following an investigation by the force's professional standards bureau.

Ken Robinson, 60, of the Quinte West detachment in eastern Ontario was charged after a woman reported unwanted contact from him between March 5 and March 15.

Police say the alleged contact occurred while Robinson was on and off duty, and the woman is not an OPP employee.

Robinson has been with Trenton-based detachment for six years.

He is on leave and will be suspended once he returns to duty.

Robinson is due in court May 19.
