Ontario provincial police are offering a $50,000 reward for information about a cold case involving a Prescott man who disappeared 13 years ago.

Police say they now believe Anthony Francis Roberts was a victim of foul play when he disappeared on Jan. 8, 1996 and there is no evidence that suggests he is still alive.

Roberts was unemployed at the time of his disappearance and was reported missing 11 days later.

When investigators searched his apartment, they found his winter jacket, a fridge full of groceries and his vehicle parked in the driveway.

Police say they believe most of Roberts' clothing was still in his apartment and note he paid bills on the date he was last seen.

At the time, Roberts' family and friends told police he kept a set routine and gave no indication he was leaving town.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing Roberts with a large amount of cash just prior to his disappearance.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact provincial police at 613-345-1790.
