OTTAWA -- An open air fire ban is no longer in effect in Ottawa.

Ottawa Fire Services instituted the ban last week due to the hot, dry conditions.

With rain falling in the capital for much of Monday, fire officials announced Tuesday morning the ban is now lifted.

Residents must still obtain a permit to have an open air fire or use an outdoor wood burning fireplace.
