The provincial government is investing half a million dollars in funding for more diagnostic scans at Ottawa hospitals.
Thousands of hours are being added to MRI machines in the capital to reduce lengthy wait times.
It's estimated 3,000 more MRI scans will be performed at the Ottawa Hospital, the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Montfort Hospital as a result.
There are currently eight MRI machines being used at the three Ottawa hospitals.
