REGINA -- An Ontario man has been charged in a four-year-old kidnapping and sexual assault case in Saskatchewan.

Police say the arrest was made possible by a countrywide database that shares information on violent offences.

RCMP received a call in June 2010 saying a 22-year-old woman had shown up at a tourist information centre near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba boundary.

She said she had been taken from a nightclub in Regina by a man in a semi who offered her a ride home.

It's alleged the man wouldn't let her leave and sexually assaulted her over a number of hours before releasing her near the boundary.

Colin Jonas Kelly, who is 42 and from Thomasburg, Ont., is charged with kidnapping and sexual assault causing bodily harm.
