Ottawa Police say they received a call around 8:10 a.m. Tuesday morning reporting gun shots on Lilas Private, near the Vanier Parkway and the 417.
One person suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital.
Heavily armed tactical officers were on-scene, and part of the street was closed off.
After a stand-off with police one man was arrested. The suspect was lead-away by police, limping towards an ambulance.
The SIU has invoked its mandate to detemine if the suspect was injured while in police custody.
