One motorist is dead after a two-vehicle collision just east of the village of Metcalfe Saturday around 11 a.m.

Police say the crash happened on Victoria Road just west of Boundry Road southeast of Ottawa.

The elderly driver of the first car was pronounced dead at scene by paramedics.

The male driver of the second vehicle, an SUV, was transported to hospital in Ottawa with facial injuries. He is believed to be in his 20s.

The passenger of the SUV was also treated for abdominal and back pain and transported to hospital. Both patients were in stable condition.

Police have closed Victoria Road at York Corners, Cartwright Road at Boundry Road and Boundry Road at Victoria Road and are investigating.
