Senior citizens can now ride public transit for free three days a week instead of one.

Starting Monday anyone 65 years and older can hop on a bus without paying certain days of the week. The free fare for seniors applies on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Wednesday is an all day freebie, while Mondays and Fridays will be free after 12 noon.

OC Transpo representatives say seniors won't be required to flash a bus pass, but should be prepared to show proof of age.

The rule applies to the buses and O-train – not Para Transpo.
