A high-end US retailer will open its door in the capital region.

Nordstrom has announced at a news conference Thursday it will open four stores in Canada - one of those in Ottawa.

Nordstrom is expected to open in Rideau Centre in 2015, taking over the Sears location which is closing it’s doors next month.

Nordstrom is expected to hire more than 1000 employees

The retailer will also be opening stores in Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto.
