Ottawa Public Health says a pill found in a Timbits box last August doesn't contain an illegal substance.

Gillian MacDonald came across a clear capsule containing brownish-beige powder when she purchased the Timbits on August 20, 2014.

MacDonald promptly reported the incident to Tim Hortons.

Lab results now confirm the pill does not contain an illegal substance.

It is also not a prescription drug.

In a statement to CTV Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health states: "Ottawa Police Services has informed the complainant of the laboratory findings. There is no further investigation by Ottawa Public Health or Ottawa Police Services".

Ottawa Public Health says it has not received any other complaints from consumers related to the Tim Hortons location at Bank Street and Cooper.
