TORONTO - A couple of retired school teachers from Niagara Falls picked up a cheque for $41.3 million today after winning a Lotto 6-49 jackpot.

Carmen and Loretta Demizio, both in their 50s, say they have lots of plans for the money, including trips to Italy and Las Vegas, and sharing the loot with family.

Carmen says he also wants to get to work on restoring his prized 1972 MGB sports car.

He says while the draw was on Wednesday, he didn't check the ticket until Sunday when he went to a self-check counter.

When his ticket scanned as a winner, he says he "quietly tiptoed out of the store" -- then went home, put the ticket on the fridge and washed his car.

The couple then told their children about the win at dinner.
