A committee fighting to make pension funds a priority in Canada says new laws won't help Nortel's 20,000 pensioners.
Don Sproule, chair of a committee of Nortel pensioners, says changes to the law will protect pension funds for current employees, but doesn't do anything to force Nortel to top up its pension fund.
The changes also don't address the committee's demand for pension claims to be given top priority.
