An expert told a city committee that rainfall a day before the big storm - and saturated soil - led to flash flooding in Kanata.
West-end Coun. Peggy Feltmate says the briefing also shed light on the capacity of a major storm water pond in Glen Cairn, the neighbourhood hardest hit by the flooding.
Feltmate wants a full report on whether the city conducted regular maintenance at that facility.
