For Katya Shebetava, Canada Day won't be like any other day. Shebetava will become a Canadian citizen and she'll also get the chance to meet Royalty.
Shebetava is one of several people who will become Canadian citizens at a ceremony at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau on Friday.
The Governor-General will swear them in, and Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will be watching.
It's something that Shebetava is excited about: "She (Kate) is just so natural and just so wonderful. I became a fan of hers since the first time I pretty much saw her as a couple," she said.
But while Shebetava will get to see the Royals up close, not everyone will.
For those who want to get a peak at Royalty, you can try to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds at the National Gallery of Canada late Friday morning. That's where they'll get into a horse-drawn carriage to take them to Parliament Hill for Canada Day celebrations.
Shop owner Claude Bonnet is also hoping the Royals will steer away from their schedule to take a tour of the Byward Market.
Bonnet served up a maple leaf cookie to U.S. President Barack Obama when he visited the capital in 2009. Now, the owner of Le Moulin de Provence bakery is hoping the Royals will drop by too.
"I hope we can do the same for the Prince and his wife," Bonnet told CTV Ottawa.
The Royal couple arrives in Ottawa at 2 p.m. Thursday. They will stop at the National War Memorial to lay a wreath and do a walkabout at 2:35 p.m. The couple will then head to Government House for an official welcome to Canada ceremony.
