The woman who was found dead near the Britannia bike path earlier this month was laid to rest in Ottawa Saturday.
Friends and family gathered at Our Lady Fatima Roman Catholic Church on Woodroffe Avenue for a final farewell to Pamela Margaret Kosmack.
She was the 39-year-old mother of two who was found murdered in a west Ottawa park two weeks ago. Kosmack lives in subsidized housing a short distance from where she was found.
Family said Kosmack struggled with drug abuse in recent years and did not live with her children.
Kosmack's half-naked and beaten body was discovered by a woman who was walking along a bike path near Britannia Road and Howe Street.
Though police have received tips from the public and interviewed several people of interest, the investigation is still ongoing.
