A 53-year-old driver is in critical condition after a crash involving his motorcycle and a woman's car on Fisher Avenue, in the west end of Ottawa.

The road was shut down Saturday evening between Dynes Road and Forestpark Avenue following the 3 p.m. collision.

Paramedics said the motorcycle driver had severe head and chest injuries, and the female driver was also taken to hospital, with minor injuries.
