A 37-year-old woman was killed this morning when she was hit by a pickup truck on the side of a highway in a small community near Trenton.
Provincial police say the woman was struck by a vehicle on Highway 2 in Bayside, Ont., east of Trenton at about 7:50 a.m.
The woman had just walked her two daughters to a bus stop and was standing next to the highway when she was struck near Bayview Drive, according to a radio report.
Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
