A 29-year-old Gatineau woman died early Saturday morning after the canoe she was in tipped in Lake McGregor and she was unable to swim to shore.
MRC des Collines police initially released a missing person report Saturday, but police confirmed her body was pulled from the water Saturday afternoon.
A 39-year-old man from Gatineau was also in the canoe when it tipped, but he was able to swim to shore.
Neither was wearing life jackets and alcohol is believed to have been a factor. No names were released.
