A woman accused of human trafficking offences turned herself into Ottawa Police on Wednesday morning.

An arrest warrant had been issued on Tuesday for 33-year-old Marina Javier.

Police allege she is known to recruit underage girls, some of whom live in group homes, for human trafficking purposes.

Police said she's facing several charges, including trafficking in persons under eighteen years by exercising control, materially benefitting from trafficking persons under 18, material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18, and recruiting pesrons under 18 to provide sexual services.

She is due to appear in court on Thursday morning.

Police say they are concerned there may be other alleged victims.
