A patriotic Sunday is leading into a quiet Monday for services and businesses, as Canada Day closures hit on July 2.

In a scheduling quirk brought on by the fact statutory holidays for workers can’t fall on weekends, it will be Monday that is seeing the bulk of closures.

Ottawa City Hall, its seven service centres and the provincial court on Elgin Street are all closed, as are banks and post offices.

Garbage, green bin and recycling pickup are going ahead as normal this week.

OC Transpo is running a Sunday schedule on Monday, with free service after 10 p.m. on July 1.

All LCBO and Beer Store locations will be closed on Monday, save for LCBO agency stores in communities too small to support actual LCBO stores.

The Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, while Place d’Orleans, St. Laurent Shopping Centre and Bayshore Shopping Centre are closed.

The City of Ottawa says to check with your local recreation facility to see if they’re open.

City-run childcare centres are closed, as are all branches of the Ottawa Public Library.
