LAVAL, Que. - A love triangle has turned violent in Laval, Quebec leaving one man dead and another one in critical condition.
A woman is also seriously injured.
Police say a 43-year-old man arrived at his ex-girlfriend's apartment this morning to confront the 33-year-old woman and her 22-year-old new boyfriend.
Laval police spokesman Frank Di Genova says a heated verbal exchange between the men quickly turned violent.
The city's ambulance service say both men's hearts had stopped by the time paramedics arrived at the building in the city's Ste-Dorothee district.
Spokesman Guy Saint-Pierre says the two men were revived and taken to hospital, where the younger one died.
He says the woman was struck in the head with a baseball bat and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The other man is in critical condition.
A 12-year-old girl, who witnessed the fight, suffered violent nervous shock and was also taken to hospital.
