A Val-des-Bois lawyer is suing Loto-Qubec for $10 million after losing all her assets gambling at Casino Lac Leamy.

Clotilde Berube was outside Montreal's court house Monday morning trying to engage people in her cause.

Berube turned to gambling as an escape from the pain of her husband's death.

She says she spent five years gambling daily. She brought between $20-thousand and $25-thousand with her each time. Berube also sold 10 properties to pay off her gambling debts.

Berube alleges Loto-Qubec recognizes problem gamblers yet chooses to profit from their obsession.

"I think the government of Qubec and Loto-Qubec has a responsibility to tell people that if you start gambling you might become addicted to it," Berube told CTV News.

She will go before a Montreal judge Tuesday morning.
