Two people were injured Friday in a four-vehicle collision near the Nepean Sportsplex.

Fire officials say one of the cars overturned onto its roof and trapped two people inside just before 9 a.m.

Rescuers had to use hydraulics to force open the driver's side door to free the driver. The other front door also had to be removed to get at the female passenger.

Both people were sent to hospital with what's believed to be not life-threatening injuries.

An OC Transpo bus was also involved in the crash. The driver appeared uninjured and there were no passengers on board.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of Woodroffe Avenue between Hunt Club and Slack Roads for about three hours.
