BELLEVILLE, Ont. - A third person charged in a human trafficking case in Belleville has been sentenced.

A court official says Kadeem Francis, 23, was handed a 60-day intermittent jail sentence Wednesday after pleading guilty last month to breach of probation.

He was also given a lifetime weapons prohibition and will be on 18 months' probation when he is released.

Francis has also pleaded guilty to an extortion charge and will be sentenced on that charge on May 1.

Francis and two other people were arrested by Belleville police last August after officers searched a home on reports that a young woman had been held against her will for several days and forced into the sex trade.

The two other people were sentenced to two years in prison when they pleaded guilty last month to charges related to the incident.
