One of Ottawa's oldest Catholic parishes is closing its doors for good because of dwindling attendance.

Archbishop Terrence Prendergast led the last mass at Ste-Anne Catholic Church on Old St. Patrick Street in Ottawa's Lowertown neighbourhood on Sunday.

More than 300 parishioners attended the final service. The 138-year-old church had just undergone a $1-million renovation.

The diocese hopes another Catholic organization will take over the building.
