Ottawa police have laid additional sexual assault charges against an Ottawa man following a second allegation of a sexual assault.

Police say on Dec. 22, a 28-year-old woman reported to police that she had met a man on an online dating site around the time of October and November 2010. Police say the woman agreed to meet the man in person, and was sexually assaulted in his car.

Police will not release any further details about the incident, they say, so as not to identify the victim.

The new allegations come after another alleged incident was reported to police involving the same man on Dec. 7.

In that case, police say a 26-year-old woman attended a man’s home in Sandy Hill after meeting him on an online dating site in June of 2015.

Police say the woman was sexually assaulted at this residence.

30-year-old Paul Batchelor of Ottawa is charged with sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

The Ottawa Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse unit is concerned there could be other victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
