The public is being asked to keep an eye out for an inmate who escaped from a minimum security facility in Kingston on Christmas Day.

Staff say they noticed a male inmate was missing from the Pittsburgh Institution, a minimum security facility on highway 15 in Kingston, around 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 25.

The inmate, 41-year-old Michael Bird, is described as 5'11', 150 pounds, possibly wearing a green "institutional" parka with fluorescent stripes, a black hat and grey gloves.

Anyone with information about Bird is asked to contact police immediately or call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
