The general manager of the Ottawa Senators says the entire hockey club is shaken by a weekend crash that left the team doctor in hospital in critical condition.

Bryan Murray told reporters Dr. Don Chow, 53, touched many people, and they're all hoping for his recovery.

"When a person cares that much, you miss him as part of your team, but again we know what his family must be going through as we wait for him to recover," said Murray.

Chow was riding his motorcycle on Fisher Avenue near Baseline Road when he collided with a vehicle Saturday afternoon. He was rushed to hospital with severe head and chest injuries. He remained in critical condition Tuesday.

Police say it appears the driver of the car pulled out in front of the motorcycle.

Chow is a prominent orthopedic surgeon in Ottawa. He has worked with the Ottawa Senators since 1992.
