Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a man with a weapon broke into a home and assaulted a woman in South Glengarry Township Wednesday morning.
Police say the suspect also stole items from the house before taking off in the home owner's vehicle.
Officers were called at about 7 a.m. and found the vehicle with no one inside.
The woman was taken to hospital because of injuries received during the attack.
Police searched the area along with canine unit but came up empty-handed.
The investigation continues.
