Police say a driver is trapped in his vehicle with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision between a tractor trailer and car on Highway 7 near Maberly, Ont., an hour west of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police have closed the highway as a result of the collision and are asking motorists to avoid the area until the highway is reopened.
Motorists travelling near the scene of the Highway 7 crash will have to take a detour at County Road 38 to Crow Lake Road and then travel to County Road 36.
Police say the highway will be closed for several hours.
