An Orleans man is dead after his vehicle hit a concrete pillar on the Queensway at Highway 174 Wednesday night.
The victim has been identified as Philippe Lalonde, 32. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ontario Provincial Police say Lalonde was heading eastbound in his 2008 Ford F150 pick-up truck when he struck the concrete pillar of an overpass at about 11:40 p.m.
Three fire trucks and eight firefighters arrived to find the truck fully engulfed in flames. They had the fire under control in minutes.
Lalonde was the only occupant of the vehicle. A post-mortem is schedule at the Ottawa Hospital on Friday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
