KINGSTON, Ont. -- A 36-year-old man is facing charges after police in Kingston, Ont., say he tried to initiate a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl through social media.
Police say their investigation found the man sent the teen numerous messages on social media starting in December in an attempt to begin a sexual relationship with her.
They say officers searched a Kingston residence on Wednesday and seized multiple digital devices.
The man is charged with sexual assault, telecommunication with person under 16 years for criminal offences, telecommunication with person under 18 years for criminal offences and attempting to make child pornography.
A bail hearing was held Thursday.
