A 78-year-old Lanark County woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover that closed an eastern Ontario road near Perth for several hours.
Shirley McLeod, of Montague Township, was killed when she failed to negotiate a curve on Fallbrook Road at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
She lost control of her vehicle, hitting the shoulder, which sent the car across the road and into the ditch.
Ontario Provincial Police say the road conditions were wet at the time.
McLeod was extricated from her vehicle and rushed to hospital in Perth. She was later transferred by air ambulance to the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. However, she died en route.
