A 42-year-old man was found dead Friday night after going hunting in Tyendinaga Township.
Derrick (Roy) Thompson, 42, was found by family and friends at about 10 p.m. in the bush near Shannonville and Blessington roads. He appeared to have a gunshot wound, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
Thompson left his Tyendinaga residence between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Friday to hunt in an area familiar to him. A search began when he failed to return around dinnertime.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Kingston.
