Two residents escaped uninjured early this morning when fire destroyed their home in south-east Ottawa.
It took 35 firefighters to quell the blaze at 5390 Sand Road in Vars. The 911 call came in at about 5 a.m.
The fire is believed to have started in a second floor laundry room. Damage is estimated at $400,000.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
