It’s a competition putting endurance and relationships to the test.

“It’s funny, I just laugh the whole time,” said Patty Chevalier Samm, who competed in the 2nd annual Wife Carrying competition at Camp Fortune Sunday. “You can't see where you're going and it's just  bumpy, very bumpy.”

“It’s kind of disorienting but it’s fun, you're just kind of bouncing around and scared that you're going to fall on your head but it was pretty fun,” said participant Rosie O’Rourke.

Participants did not have to be married, but had to be at least 18 years old.

“You can't stop laughing when you start doing it…I thought I was going to trip, that's what I was most concerned about but it was fun,” said Conor Ryan.

The winners, Patty Chevalier Samm and her husband, Maurice Samm, walked away with the grand prize…Patty’s weight in beer.
