A Montreal trio appeared in a Kingston courtroom Friday facing four counts of first-degree murder after their relatives were discovered inside the Rideau Canal at the Kingston Mills locks.
Mohammad Shafia, wife Tooba and their son Hamed, 18 were all charged in relation to the deaths of the couple's four teenage daughters. They were discovered in late June inside a car.
A preliminary inquiry is expected to start Feb. 2.
