Ottawa Police have charged two adults and one youth in relation to a swarming robbery that occurred yesterday.

On April 27, 2016, at approximately 7:30 pm, a lone male victim, age 16, was standing along Bank Street near the Billings Bridge Plaza when he was approached by three males. The suspect removed the victim's hat and glasses, pushed him to the ground, and assaulted him. The suspects then took the victim's cell phone and fled. The incident was witnessed by two passersby, who then followed the suspects and notified Police. The witnesses assisted Police in providing the direction of travel of the suspects.  Patrol and neighbourhood officers attended the area and arrested all three suspects. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require additional medical attention.

Three persons have been charged in relation to this occurrence:

Errol Rose and Triston Douglas, both 18 years of age, of Ottawa, are jointly charged with one count of robbery.  Errol Rose is additionally charged with one count of Breach of a YCJA disposition.

A 17 years old youth, also of Ottawa, is also charged with single counts each of robbery and breach of a YCJA disposition.

Errol Rose and the 17 years old youth will appear in court on April 28, 2016. Triston Douglas was released from custody and appears in court next on May 17, 2016.
