Police say numerous charges have been laid after a stolen car collided with an RCMP vehicle near the Supreme Court on Sunday.

Ottawa Paramedics say six people were taken to hospital.

Ottawa police say they were called to help RCMP stop the car around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say RCMP initially tried to stop the vehicle on the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway.

Police say there were six people in the stolen car, and one RCMP officer in the RCMP SUV.

Paramedics say those taken to hospital include a woman in her 20s with serious head injuries listed in critical condition. They say the RCMP officer received minor injuries.

19-year-old Tyler Hutchinson of Ottawa was charged with possession over $5,000, failure to stop for police, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and breach of probation.

Police say 23-year-old Shane Reely, also of Ottawa, was a passenger in the vehicle and has been charged with possession over $5,000 and breach of recognizance.

Police say other charges may be pending.
