Ottawa bylaw officers will be seeing even more summer night duty as they start to crack down on noisy weekend partying.

City bylaw officers will now patrol 90 minutes later until 3:30 a.m. in areas prone to loud parties, such as Sandy Hill and its large population of university students.

These extended shifts will be happening on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until September as part of a pilot project.

Anyone caught breaking these bylaws are subject to warnings and fines.
