Ottawa Police have charged five people with various offences following a drug bust in the capital.

Two adult males, two young offenders and one female young offender were arrested Monday after police received a disturbance call in the 1200 block of Donald Street.

Pierce James, 18, and Amanuel Mengesha, 20, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine and valium.

James is also charged with failure to comply with a probation order and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old are also facing drug trafficking charges. The 15-year-old is also charged with possession of a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.

The following items were seized as part of the investigation:

  •  An unloaded 32 calibre American Bulldog revolver
  • 11.5 grs of crack cocaine valued at $2300.00
  • 49.5 Valium pills valued at $490.00
  • 0.2 grs cocaine valued at $20.00

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit is still investigating. Police say further charges may be laid in relation to firearms.
