Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons says he has been suspended for three games by Major League Baseball.
It's one of several bans expected to be formally announced today by MLB in the wake of a weekend brawl between the Blue Jays and Texas Rangers.
Reports indicate Rangers infielder Rougned Odor will sit eight games for delivering a punch to the jaw of Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista in a game last Sunday.
The incident touched off a benches-clearing melee at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
According to reports, Toronto pitcher Jesse Chavez will sit three games while Bautista and Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus will get one game apiece.
Gibbons, who returned to the field after being ejected earlier in the game, also says he has been fined US$5,000.
More coming.
