Mississauga man charged with fraud

(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service has charged a Mississauga male, Ralph Henry SANON, 29 years old, with several fraud related charges.

SANON was wanted previously on two outstanding warrants with the Ottawa Police Service. SANON also had several outstanding warrants across the province for fraud related activities spanning two years.

It is believed that SANON is responsible for over $500,000 in losses to financial institutions. SANON would impersonate customers of banks and access bank accounts fraudulently with forged identification.

The Ottawa Police Service, in cooperation with the Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes Unit was able to track down SANON to a bank branch in Orleans in the afternoon of June 7th. Patrol officers attended the bank and arrested SANON as he was attempting to withdraw money from an account fraudulently.

SANON faces the following charges:

• Fraud under $5000 x2
• Unauthorized possession of credit card data x1
• Personating x2
• Uttering forged documents x2
• Possession of identity documents of another x2

SANON was processed, held for show cause, his next court appearance is on the 10th of June 2013.
