A Metcalfe man has been charged with five weapons offences after police searched a residence Friday.
Officers with the Guns and Gangs Unit found several guns at a home on Johannes Street in Metcalfe. The weapons included a handgun, a12-gauge shot gun, a rifle, and ammunition.
Robertino Edwards, 47, was charged with violating the Firearm Act, unlicensed possession of an unregistered firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by committing an offence, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.
Metcalfe is a village located in rural south Ottawa, about 40 minutes away from the downtown core.
