Sheppit, 16, fell into prostitution after becoming pregnant. The St. Patrick's High School student was found semi-nude and strangled to death in the ByWard Market. Police believe her killer took one of her shoes as a trophy.
Sheppit was last seen alive near Clarence and Dalhousie streets early on Sept. 30. Some witnesses reported her entering a car.
