You may notice a very different dress code at the office on Thursday.

The mayor of Ottawa has declared  April 9th, "Jeans and Jersey Day" in the Capital.

Mayor Jim Watson said in a statement, "I encourage all Sens fans to wear a jersey with jeans on Thursday to show support for this outstanding team. Go Sens Go"

The Ottawa Senators have the city abuzz with their frantic late season push for a playoff spot.  The team is in New York Thursday to take on the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.  The Rangers are the leagues top team and have won their last five games.  They  clinched the President's Trophy on Tuesday night.

The Senators likely need to win their two remaining games to have a shot at the final wild card spot.  They did get some help from Washinton on Wednesday night as the Capitals beat the Bruins 3-0.  It means Boston and Ottawa sit tied with 95 points and two games remaining.  The Senators however would lose out in a tiebreak scenario.

The Senators play their final game in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.
