Man tries to rape 15-year-old Cornwall girl

Cornwall police are looking for the man who tried to sexual assault a 15-year-old girl Friday afternoon.

The suspect accosted and forcibly confined the victim in a side yard off a First Street East residence near Sydney Street shortly after 2 p.m. He attempted to assault her, but the girl began screaming. The man threatened her before fleeing the scene to the south, towards the Lionel Chevrier Building.

The suspect is described as a white man, five foot seven, heavily built, and about 30 years old. He was wearing sunglasses, a lime green baseball hat, black hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
