Speed is suspected as the cause of a fatal single-motorcycle crash in west Ottawa Tuesday morning.
Ottawa police said they were investigating the Kanata crash with one male victim around 5:45 a.m.
They said speed is likely a factor in the crash, not the road conditions at the time.
"Indications are that weather was not a factor, there were no other vehicles that we could see," said Acting Sgt. Chris Rolofs. "It does look at this point that speed was definitely a factor."
The roads that were re-opened just before 11 a.m. were:
- Eagleson Road at the intersections of Cope Drive and Cadence Gate, as well as at Palomino Drive.
- Michael Cowpland Drive at Stonehaven Drive
- Stonehaven Drive at Harness Lane
Police said the victim was wearing a helmet. His name has not been released.
